04/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - The committee on civil liberties, justice and home affairs of the European Parliament (LIBE) will hold a hearing on 11 February for the two candidates to the post of Director of the European Fundamental Rights Agency. At the end of 2007, the Commission put two candidates forward: Dario Carminati of Italy, the representative of the UNHCR to Angola, and Morten Kjaerum, Director of the Danish Institute for Human Rights (EUROPE 9567). The Council intends to hold a hearing of the two candidates on the same day as LIBE. (B.C.)
