04/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - In Brussels on 7 and 8 February, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is holding a high-level conference on the revised Lisbon Strategy for 2008-2010, looking at the role of organised civil society. Speakers include Dr Ziga Turk, Slovenia's growth minister and Lisbon Strategy coordinator, Gunter Verheugen, Vice-President of the European Commission with responsibility for Enterprise and Industry, Maria Joao Rodrigues, special advisor to the prime minister of Portugal, and representatives of European social partners (trade unions and employers) and the Committee of the Regions.
