17/01/2008 (Agence Europe) - With just a few months to go to the publication of the proposals that make up the second chapter of the “Single European Sky” (SES) project to modernise the air traffic control system, the European Transport-workers' Federation (ETF) strongly criticised the first European Commission's report on implementation of the first chapter. According to ETF, the approach adopted by the Commission is too focused on the economy and too influenced by the interests of airline companies. ETF, which reproaches the Commission for not having sufficiently consulted the social partners, deplores the fact that it is not involved in the work of the High Level Group responsible for drafting the report. The remarks and proposals put forward by ETF (especially the report on Functional Airspace Blocs, FABs) may be consulted on http://www.etf-europe.org . (A.By.)
