19/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - At a ceremony in the European Parliament on Tuesday 18 December, EP President Hans-Gert Pöttering, Commission President José Manuel Barroso and Portuguese Prime Minister José Socrates, who currently holds the presidency of the Council, signed the proclamation of a European Consensus on Humanitarian Aid. This document sets out a common vision and shared principles for the delivery of more effective EU humanitarian aid. (see EUROPE 9558). (O.L.)
