THE DAY IN POLITICS / (eu) eu/turkey

13/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - In an interview with the “Financial Times”, Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan said he thought it would be good for his county if Turkey became a member of the EU. Sargsyan, who is a favourite to become the country's president at the election on 19 April, said that “the problems between us could find a solution within an EU framework”. He also said he thought it was incorrect to say that Mr Erdogan was not committed to establishing relations with Armenia. (L.G.)
