Brussels, 26/11/2007 (Agence Europe) - The Council of the EU believes that the time has come to simplify the EU regulatory environment for business in the areas of company law, accounting and auditing, by adapting rules to new information technology. In a conclusions document adopted last week, it backs the approach recommended by the European Commission in a July report (see EUROPE 9467).
