Luxembourg, 29/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - According to estimates published by Eurostat on 23 October, the industrial new orders index rose by 0.3% in August 2007 compared with July 2007 in the eurozone, following a fall of 2.6% in July. In the EU27, new orders increased by 1.0% in August 2007, after a fall of 3.5% in July. Excluding ships, railway and aerospace equipment, industrial new orders rose 0.3% in the eurozone and 0.9% in the EU27 in August 2007. In August 2007 compared with August 2006, industrial order books rose 5.1% in the eurozone and 8.2% in the EU27. Total industry (excluding ships, railways and aerospace equipment) grew by 6.3% in the eurozone and 9.8% in the EU27. (O.L.)
