Constitutional affairs committee supports strengthening European political parties and foundations

Strasbourg, 23/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Monday evening, the European Parliament constitutional affairs committee approved, by 18 votes in favour and three against, the report by its president Jo Leinen (PES, Germany) on the draft proposal amending Regulation 2004/2003 on the status and funding of European level political parties. The draft regulation mainly aims to strengthen the role of European political parties in the next European elections in 2009 and allow these political parties...
