22/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 18 October 2007, the European Commission announced approval of Romania's restructuring plan for its coal industry, notified by the country for 2007-2013. The plan involves Romanian state aid of €411 million to maintain access to coal reserves in the country to ensure security of energy supply. The Commission noted that Romania has pledged to gradually reduce its aid to the coal industry. (L.C.)
