Discovery of vast system fraud involving textiles and shoe imports from China

Brussels, 22/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - Close collaboration between the Austrian Ministry of Finance, Vienna customs investigation services, Wiener-Neustadt and the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) has enabled the capture of a band of Chinese, Hungarians and Austrians who have smuggled large quantities of textiles and shoes from the People's Republic of China into the EU by means of heavily undervalued and false invoices.
