22/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - By mid-2007, the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) had received 42 applications for marketing authorisations, with a further 52 forecast by the end of the year. This follows the record number of applications made in 2006, a record expected to be broken in 2007. 16 of the requests in 2007 will be for biosimilar medicines. (O.J.)
