Flood of infringement proceedings for failure to comply with environment legislation

Brussels, 18/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to begin or to continue infringement proceedings against member states for failure to comply with Community environment legislation. In fewer cases, it has also decided to close some proceedings. Here are some of the infringements and the stage reached in the proceedings:
