01/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 28 September, the European Commission announced that it was to donate more than €50 million (to be channelled via the European humanitarian aid office, ECHO) to support refugees and displaced persons in eastern Chad and the north-east of the Central African Republic. This aid will contribute to the other measures taken by the UN and the EU to make these regions safe. €30.5 million will go to emergency humanitarian aid. €10 million, to be taken...
