16/07/2007 (Agence Europe) - At the end of June, the French authorities called asked the Commission for aid from the European Globalisation Adjustment fund to help Peugeot (PSA) and Renault. The Commission approved these requests, which included EUR 2.558,250 for the 267 workers at PSA and EUR 1.258.030 for the 628 workers at Renault. After a legal examination before the decision, the Commission present these requests to the budgetary authority (European Parliament and Council). The latter decided on a sum of EUR 3.816,280 for the workers (the total of the two requested amounts) in payment appropriations under the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund and part of the general EU budget for the 2007 tax year.
