MEPs condemn violation of arms embargo and call for military no-fly zone to be set up

Strasbourg, 12/07/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on the situation in Darfur. This resolution condemned the blatant violation of the United Nations arms embargo by the Sudanese government, and called on EU member states to immediately introduce stricter control and verification procedures to ensure compliance with the United Nations Security Council resolution of 30 July 2004.
