Brussels, 26/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - The EU-Croatia accession conference at ministerial level held on Tuesday in Brussels in the presence of the Croatian foreign minister, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, and the EU president-in-office of the Council, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, formally approved the opening of six new chapters for membership talks with his country. These chapters are on: freedom to provide services, company law, financial services, information society and media, statistics and financial control. In total, 10 new chapters have thus been opened under German EU presidency since the beginning of this year, if one includes the four chapters on which accession talks were already launched in March: intellectual property law, economic and monetary policy, enterprise and industrial policy, and customs union.
