Commission proposes adaptation of EU labelling and packaging classification system for chemical products in compliance with UN standards

Brussels, 26/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 25 June, the European Commission presented a draft regulation to adapt the current EU classification system of chemical substances and mixtures to the Globally Harmonized System for Hazard Classification and Labelling (GHS). The internationally accepted harmonised classification criteria and labelling elements will be integrated in new EU legislation, replacing the current law on the classification, labelling and packaging of chemical substances...
