US company Formica, the world's biggest panel company, has been sold to New Zealand company Fletcher Building for $700 m (€520 m). Formica was taken over in 2004 by two investment funds, Cerberus and Oaktree Capital Management. Formica had a turnover of $737 million in 2006 and has 12 plants around the world. (gc)
