23/04/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 19 April, the Council decided that the EU general budget would provide €100 million to the increase of capital for the European Investment Fund (EIF). This increase in capital was decided by the Ecofin Council of March 2006 and approved by last year's European Spring Council, with a view to increasing its contribution to growth and jobs. (ab)
