The German group E.ON has agreed to withdraw the offer it made for the biggest electricity company in Spain, Endesa. It is therefore leaving the field free to its rivals, Enel from Italy and Acciona from Spain, which are now ready to launch their own takeover bids for Endesa very soon, at €41 per share.
