04/04/2007 (Agence Europe) - As expected, the French TGV (high-speed train) beat its speed record on Tuesday 3 April by reaching 574.8 km/h on the Champagne - Ardenne East European high speed line. This new world rail speed record was won by the V150 train built by Alstom Transport in cooperation with the Réseau ferré de France (RFF) and the Société national des chemins de fer (SNCF: French national railway) as part of the TGV “Excellence” programme.
