21/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - The Oslo Conference on Cluster Munitions, an initiative aimed at gaining the definitive elimination of such weapons, will be held in Norway on 22 - 23 February. In parallel to the debates bringing together around 50 states, but not China, India, the United States or Russia, the Cluster Munition Coalition (CMC) and the Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) association will be organising a forum for the civil society. On this occasion, Handicap International will present a petition signed by 300,000 persons calling for the abolition of cluster bombs, which indiscriminately kill or mutilate thousands of civilians.
