21/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - The Commission of the Bishops' Conference of the European Community (COMECE) will be holding a European congress in Rome from 23 to 25 March to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. After this meeting, some 400 participants will send a “Rome message” to the heads of state and government meeting in European Council in Berlin on 25 March. Romano Prodi, President of the Italian Council, Mary McAleese, President of Ireland, Wolfgang Schäuble, German Interior Minister, and Hans-Gert Pöttering, President of the European Parliament, will contribute to these two discussion days.
