Brussels, 20/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - The EU has decided to keep in place for a further year the sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe under the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and the Cotonou Agreement, linking the EU to 78 ACP (Africa, Caribbean, Pacific) countries. The decision was adopted without debate by the Council on 19 February. The so-called “intelligent” sanctions are designed not to hurt the Zimbabwean people to whom the EU will continue to provide humanitarian aid. (an)
