08/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) is providing €55 million to the provinces of Varese and Lecco in Lombardy, Italy, for the financing of their infrastructure investment programme of over €150 million. The €40 m loan to Varese will improve the road network, upgrade secondary school buildings and provide flood protection. The €15 million loan to Lecco will extend school buildings and support investment in the road network and environmental protection. (ol)
