Presidency announces "consensus" between Member States to extend "Schengen III" to whole EU - Four Member States enter reservations based on costs

Dresden, 15/01/2007 (Agence Europe) - The vast majority of the Member States lent their support to the proposal by the German Presidency to extend the Treaty of Prüm, more usually known as "Schengen III", to the whole of the EU, the German interior minister, Wolfgang Schäuble, announced on Monday in Dresden, at the informal Council of Justice and Home Affairs Ministers of the EU.
