Brussels, 22/12/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 22 December, the Commission adopted a draft directive on the internal transport of dangerous goods. The aim is not only to simplify existing legislation, by bringing together all the directives which apply to the transport of dangerous goods by road and rail (directives 94/95, 96/49, 96/35, 2000/18), but also to extend its scope to include inland waterways, which, hitherto, was not covered by these arrangements.
