Commission gives conditional green light to second emission quota allocation plans for ten Member States - France withdraws its plan to correct it before assessment

Brussels, 29/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 29 November the European Commission gave its verdict in its introductory evaluation of ten national green house gas emission quota allocations (National Allocation Plans (NAP) sent to if from Member States for 2008-12, the first period of commitments made by industrialised countries under the Kyoto Protocol on climate change. Germany, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Slovakia, Sweden and the United Kingdom have all got the green...
