29/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - Members of the Socialist group at the European Parliament have re-elected Martin Schulz, by a large majority (134 votes for out of 148) to the presidency of the group for the second legislature of the European Parliament. Schulz stated in a declaration following his re-election, that his group would “put up a real fight against phenomena such as hatred, racism and xenophobia”. He also underlined the group's support for “protection and improvement in social justice”. (hb)
