Over one million tonnes of sugar quotas renounced in EU - Commission calls for more to be done

Brussels, 21/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - During the Agriculture Council of 20 November, Agriculture Commissioner Mariann Fischer Boel announced the definitive renunciation of nearly 1,150 million tonnes of sugar quotas for 2006/07, the first year of application of the sugar reform decided one year ago.
