ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) paper

US company INTERNATIONAL PAPER is negotiating with ILIM PULP, Russia's leading pulp and board company. INTERNATIONAL PAPER will acquire 50% of ILIM PULP for USD 650 mil, thereby taking a stake in four plants in Russia producing around 2.5 mil tonnes of pulp and board a year. The deal includes plans to invest around USD 1.2 bn over the next five years. (il)
