New EU poultry meat import regime

Brussels, 27/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 27 October, the European Commission announced an agreement with Brazil on a new regime for imports of certain poultry meats into the EU. After winning WTO dispute settlement procedure, Brazil and Thailand have compelled the EU to review its customs concessions for three poultry products. Negotiations with Brazil have come to an end with the setting in place of tariff quotas instead of the current system, which is purely a tariff system. Talks...
