ICES calls for cod fishing in Community waters to be suspended for fourth year running

Brussels, 20/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 20 October, the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) officially published its scientific evaluation of the state of the stocks of many fish species caught by EU vessels. The data will be analysed by the European Commission which will then present its proposal end November or early December on total allowable catches and quotas for 2007.
