Brussels, 09/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - To enhance the already very fruitful Sino-European cooperation in science and technology (through China's involvement in ITER and Galileo projects), Research Commissioner Janez Potoènik and Chinese deputy science and technology minister Wu Zhingze will launch the EU-China Year of Science and Technology 2007 in Brussels, on Wednesday. This event, which will stimulate cooperation to complete joint projects in various scientific disciplines (notably health, renewable energy, the environment and biotechnology, agriculture and animal welfare) will run alongside the launch of the 7th research programme for research and development and the 11th Chinese five-year plan.
