Strasbourg, 11/09/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 7 September, just prior to the 9th EU-China Summit (see related article), the European Parliament adopted the report by Dutch MEP Bastiaan Belder (IND/DEM), which was openly critical of human rights violations in China and of Beijing's policy towards Taiwan and Tibet. The report was approved by 351 votes to 48, with 160 abstentions.
