Brussels, 23/08/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has cleared the planned acquisition of the US aerospace spare parts distributor Aviall Inc. by the US aircraft manufacturer the Boeing. As regards the distribution of spare parts, consisting in the distribution of large or small aerospace parts for large commercial or for general aviation/regional aircraft, the Commission concluded that the transaction leads to a limited overlap and that the merged entity will continue to face strong competition. The vertical relationship between the parties is also limited, since Aviall distributes few Boeing-proprietary parts, explains the Commission, which also notes that in respect of the provision of maintenance, repair and overhaul there is no overlap in activities.
