Truce in DRC - Javier Solana meetings with Kabila and Bemba - Louis Michel condemns serious incidents in Kinshasa

Brussels, 23/08/2006 (Agence Europe) - CFSP High Representative Javier Solana's spokesperson Cristina Gallach explained (EUROPE 9248) that during telephone conversations with president Kabila and vice president Bemba, the two candidates who reached the second round of the presidential elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo on 29 October, the CFSP High Representative had expressed his serious concern “following the unacceptable events that occurred in Kinshasa on 21 and 22 August”....
