Brussels, 24/07/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Federation of Associations for Adults and Young People with Disabilities (APAJH) launched, on 11 July, the 3rd edition of APAJH Trophies, a European competition to promote the full insertion into society of persons with disabilities. The competition is open to both public and private bodies (schools, business, administrations, towns, local authorities, etc.) and to the countries of the EU. Registration closes on 5 January 2007. Five trophies and one “honorific trophy” will award best practices on: (1) the right to school education and culture; (2) the accessibility of public services; (3) professional insertion; (4) accessibility in towns; and (5) European best practice. A jury composed of personalities with qualifications and experience in this field will evaluate the contributions according to the following criteria: the impact on the daily life of people with disabilities, exemplarity, sustainability and the efforts made. The trophies will be awarded to the winners during the evening, organised and carried out by BLK Production, on 16 March 2007 at the Palais des Congrès in Paris before more than 4,000 persons.
