Brussels, 27/06/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 27 June, the EU Council of Ministers adopted without debate the regulation to improve the monitoring, by catch documents, of fishing of the Patagonian toothfish (Dissostichus sp.). The regulation transposes into EU law the new international provisions to combat illegal fishing of this species. The Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) had adopted, in 1999, a catch documentation system for fishing this species...
