27/06/2006 (Agence Europe) - During a visit to Seoul, where she was jointly chairing a high level group on competition policy, Neelie Kroes, Competition Commissioner, gave her assurance that she wished to strengthen anti-trust cooperation between the EU and South Korea. Both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in order to deepen and regulate their dialogue on competition rules. “International cooperation is necessary to strengthen competition law and policies”, the president of the Korean Trade Commission (KTC), Ohseung Kwon, explained at a press conference on Tuesday. Ms Kroes placed emphasis on combating cartels.
