Parliament condemns rise in fraud in fields of structural funds, cigarette smuggling and VAT

Strasbourg, 16/06/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament is concerned by fraud and irregularities discovered particularly in the fields of structural funds, cigarette smuggling and VAT. Adopting the report by Herbert Bösch (PES, Austria) on the 2004 anti-fraud report on 15 June, Parliament regretted the lack of detail in the information communicated to it after the Eurostat affair, and said it was concerned by the rents affair and the cost of buying the two buildings it occupies in...
