Council condemns lack of cooperation of Balkans with ICTY, insists that Albania continues reforms and calls on countries of region to take ownership of regional cooperation process

Luxemburg, 13/06/2006 (Agence Europe) - In the conclusions on the Balkans adopted on 12 June, the External Relations Council once again condemned the lack of cooperation from the Balkan countries with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). The Council “noted with concern that the Chief Prosecutor (Carla Del Ponte) had not been able to report any progress on the arrest and transfer of the six remaining fugitives”.
