The NYSE, New York Stock Exchange, is looking to take over the pan-European stock exchange EURONEXT, which operates the Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam and Lisbon stock exchanges, for 8 billion euro, thereby creating a huge transatlantic bourse. The new entity would be valued at around 16 billion euro, with 4,025 companies listed with a combined value of 21,000 billion euro. The supervisory board and management are backing the deal, which they consider better than the proposed merger put forward...
