24/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - At the European Parliament in Strasbourg on 17 May the GUE/NGL presented its campaign for the closure of centres of temporary detention in Europe, entitled No Fortress Europe. There is a petition on the campaign website, address is www.no-fortress-europe.eu . A paper petition has also been sent to all European NGOs. The EP will shortly examine a draft directive on joint standards and procedures to be applied in all Member States for the return of third country...
