24/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - CDU MEP Werner Langen, European Parliament rapporteur on expansion of the eurozone (see EUROPE 9194), says the Lithuanian government's decision to wait until 2009 to join the euro (see EUROPE 9193 and 9198) is intelligent. He said it was a reasonable decision given the controversy in Lithuania about inflation. Langen's report will be voted upon in plenary in Brussels on Thursday.
