Strasbourg, 18/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - French MEPs are calling for the same rights for access to French prisons as national parliamentarians, without having to submit prior request for authorisation. The rules in force in France, as in other EU countries, do not allow MEPs to visit prisons without warning the director of the penitentiary first, or other persons of authority.
