31/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, the Council of the EU welcomed the commitment of several European countries to subscribe to the EU blacklist allowing the freezing of funds and financial assets of 47 terrorist organisations. Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Croatia, Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia-Montenegro, Iceland and Liechtenstein, together with Ukraine and Moldova, declared that they would subscribe to the objectives of the common CFSP position of December 2005 (see EUROPE 9105) and the common position of 20 March 2006 on updating the list of groups and people targeted by these restrictions. The Council indicates that these States will ensure "that their national policies are in line with these two common positions".
