31/03/2006 (Agence Europe) -On the occasion of the Congress of the European People's Party (EPP) in Rome (see other article), CDU MEP Hartmut Nassauer and Markus Ferber of the CSU stated that the AK party of the Turkish Foreign Minister Erdogan should just keep observer status at the EPP. Any other decision, particularly that to associate the AK with the European People's Party, would be the "wrong sign at the wrong time", they stated in a press release.
