28/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - Doctor Lieve Fransen, Head of the Human and Social Development Unit in DG Development at the European Commission, has been elected Vice-Chairwoman of the Board of the Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Mrs Fransen succeeds Professor Michel Kazatchkine of France, who resigned in January, and will hold the post until April 2007.
