EP observers say Ukraine passes “democracy test” in spite of minor “imperfections”

Brussels, 28/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - The leader of the European Parliament's team of observers at the general elections in Ukraine on 26 March, Marek Siwiec (PES, Poland) gave press a very satisfactory assessment of the election campaign and the vote. These elections were a “real test of the state of democracy and the solidity of political structures” of the country, and Ukraine passed it, because both the election campaign and the vote had been “free and fair” and Ukrainian...
